The Brief

The National Wool Museum engaged 3Scoops to develop the campaign and identity for the 2025 ‘We the Makers’ exhibition, its flagship biennial event celebrating the Sustainable Fashion Prize. The exhibition spotlights emerging ideas in sustainable fibre and textiles through the work of next-generation designers.

For this year’s campaign, the brief was to create something bold, bright, and dynamic while staying true to the competition’s sustainable ethos. The identity needed to feel contemporary and culturally relevant, while still connecting back to the museum’s heritage and archive.

The Solution

3Scoops developed a campaign platform that drew directly from the museum’s archives, reinterpreting them through a more contemporary lens. At the centre of the creative was an underwater world inspired by algae, an emerging material in sustainable fashion, used as a visual metaphor for the future of fibre.

The campaign combined natural motifs with vibrant colour and movement to create a distinctive and energetic visual language. Production was executed on location in the You Yangs, capturing a series of stylised scenes inspired by classic 70s cinema with a slightly surreal tone. The result was a suite of video and imagery designed to stand apart from traditional exhibition campaigns and capture attention across channels.

Alongside the campaign, we developed a full exhibition identity that extended into the physical gallery space. In collaboration with partners, the design was brought to life at scale, including a custom carpet installation that carried the visual language across the entire floor, creating an immersive experience for visitors.

The campaign rolled out across digital and social channels, supported by in-gallery execution that connected the identity, environment, and exhibition into a cohesive experience.
